After monitoring with NetStumbler i found sweet setting for my Linksys WAP-54G under Access Point mode. I use 7dBi D-Link omni-directional antenna on the left connector and i leave the right connector with Linksys stock antenna. To improve the signal quality, under :
Wireless > Advanced Wireless Setting :
- Tx Antenna : Auto
- Rx Antenna : Left
- Preamble : Short
- Tx Power : 100mW (Please follow you country WiFi guideline, in my country max allow EIRP is 500mW = 27dB)
I set the Tx antenna to auto to allowed tx signal to transmitted from both antenna then i set rx antenna to left which is my D-Link 7dB antenna with better sensitivity compare to stock. Preamble set to short improved NetStumbler performance catching my AP signal continously. Tx power set to 100mW to maximize my EIRP but still follow max EIRP allowed in my country. By using 7dBi antenna i need to have 20dbm Tx power. 20dBm = 100mW. Then my effective EIRP will bet set to 27dBm=500mWatt.
Good Luck Tweaking your DD-WRT unit... :)
